Consultant Psychiatrist in Acute Inpatient AMH

This vacancy is for an existing post for a Consultant Psychiatrist, for adult acute inpatient wards in Roseberry Park Hospital (RPH), Marton Road, Middlesbrough TS4 3AF.
The Tees Adult Mental Health services comprise four localities: Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool, and Redcar and Cleveland. Each locality has Intensive Home Treatment and Crisis Services, functionally split into Affective & Access and Psychosis (with embedded Assertive Outreach) Community Teams. Each locality has its own EIP Service with close links to the Community Psychosis Teams.
Teesside Adult Mental Health Service also has a Crisis Assessment Suite located in Roseberry Park.
Inpatient Services for Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool, and Redcar & Cleveland are based at Roseberry Park Hospital, Middlesbrough, a new purpose-built inpatient hospital opened in 2010. There are four Adult Mental Health Wards (64 beds in total) and a 10-bedded Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit.
Rehabilitation Services are provided from inpatient units based in Stockton. There is a 24-hour Liaison Service which provides a service to all Acute Hospitals in the Tees area.
Commissioning arrangements are through two CCGs: Hartlepool and Stockton CCG and South Tees CCG.
Main Duties of the JobThe post holder will act as Responsible Clinician for inpatients admitted under care in the ward (responsibility shared with paired Consultant).
The Consultants will jointly chair the 24-hour Morning Report Out meeting when decisions are made about patient care and the management plan, risk, and leave arrangements are reviewed. Tasks are allocated at the meeting and reviewed the following morning.
The Consultant will attend and fully contribute to the 72-hour formulation meeting and discharge planning meetings for their own patients.
The post holder will be expected to provide appropriate supervision to Junior Medical Staff.
The post holder will be expected to liaise with community teams and Consultants.
Consultant annual leave is arranged on a mutual cover basis with paired consultant or other inpatient consultants or if required with Community Consultants as appropriate.
