From £13.75 per hour inclusive of Holiday Pay.

Overview of the Kent positions:
As a supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of support escorts, Hays is seeking to recruit Prison/Project Escorts similar to the Operational Support Grades (OSGs) role for several Prisons in Kent, including Rochester, Maidstone & Sheppey.

Purpose of the Prison Escort/OSG role:

As part of the security team you will be responsible for assisting in the safety and security of the establishment where your duties will include escorting visitors, building contractors, gate duties within the prison and outside areas. You will ensure the safety and security of the visitors, staff and prisoners within a Prison establishment, while persons from outside of the prison service are on site.

Prison/Project Escort OSG
Escorting contractors & vehicles around prison area
Searching visitors & contractors
4 Days per week within the Monday to Friday days, 39 Hours. (Shift Pattern of 6.45am start to 5.30pm finish or 7.15am to 6pm finish)
£13.75 per hour, inclusive of Holiday pay
Radio operation & handling
Supervision of visitors & contractors on site
Contractor Tool checks
Patrolling perimeter and grounds
Health & Safety Procedures
Routine administrative work

Experience:
No formal qualifications or previous experience is required for this role.
The nature of the escort role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks, you will also need to be reliable and consistent, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Successful applicants will have a background in customer services or security, and will be assessed based on the following competencies: Acting with integrity, respecting others, Building relationships and team working, communicating effectively, developing self and others.
Full training is provided by the establishment/ department. Training time will be paid at the standard hourly rate.

Security Clearance required:
Immediate start if you are already Prison Cleared.
All applicants will be subject to the HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure which can take up to 4 weeks, this can include a Disclosure Baring Service (DBS) check. You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address. All applicants must be able to provide details of 3 years of satisfactory references.
