Job Description

Part-time Corporate Accounts Assistant

Our client is a comprehensive tax advice and compliance service with particular expertise in cross-borderand international tax planning and compliance. Offering covers US and UK taxation for expatriates andUS and UK connected people on either side of "The Pond", dealing with everything from tax filings underthe terms of the US/UK Treaty to complex consulting and advice issues around businesses and successionplanning.

Our client is looking to grow their corporate accounts offering and so are looking to recruit an assistantto join the Corporate compliance team. The team currently covers Statutory Accounts, Corporation Taxplanning and Returns, Company Secretarial, Payroll and VAT returns, but the role will be predominantlyfocused on aspects of Accounting and Corporation tax return preparation.The incoming individual will ideally have experience of drafting basic Company Accounts. Assistance will beprovided if complex accounting and tax areas arise; the role will be working towards running a smallportfolio of non -complex clients up to submission of Accounts and Corporation Tax Return.

Key Duties

  • Preparing a small portfolio of dormant accounts and ensuring completion to deadline.
  • Preparing and/or reviewing non- complex small company accounts and Corporation tax returns.
  • Drafting more complex small company accounts to be passed for completion and review by a senior team member.
  • Basic dividend planning, with assistance.
  • Drafting basic partnership and non-resident company tax returns for review prior to submission.
  • Use of Xero for bookkeeping assistance and updating of clients records following accounts preparation
  • Assistance with providing information to UK and US tax teams on clients' corporate position.

Requirements

  • AAT Level 3 or Part-Qualified ACCA/ACA to equivalent level.
  • Experience preparing Company accounts using accounting software.
  • Able to manage own workload and be a flexible team-player.

Desirable, but not Required

  • Knowledge and experience of VAT.
  • Knowledge of basic LLP Accounts.
  • Experience of clients with international elements.
  • Knowledge of Xero (training will be provided).
