Job Description

At Lingvano, our mission is to break down language barriers and build bridges between Deaf and hearing people. We do so by creating easy-to-use sign language and Deaf culture lessons.

As we near our 3 millionth learner milestone, we are looking for a data analyst to help us make more data-driven decisions. If you have experience in analytics, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and want to make a meaningful social impact, we've got the job for you!

You will report directly to our Head of Business Operations and will play a big role in starting our business intelligence and data science function, with the potential to grow into a data scientist role as our company expands.


Aufgaben Tasks

What you will do:

  • Prepare and conduct analyses to identify key insights and trends through exploratory data analyses; evaluate and conduct statistical analyses for each goal and dataset.
  • Support and collaborate cross-functionally by consulting with all teams, including learning, marketing, product, and engineering, to identify and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Simplify and present insights for effective data communication in a way that is accessible and actionable for all stakeholders, including non-technical colleagues; connect different data points to tell a cohesive story.
  • Identify and integrate appropriate data sources and manage data infrastructure, incl. setting up a company's data warehouse and visualization tools, and onboarding teams to use these resources effectively.
  • Develop and scale automated, self-service reporting, incl. creating dashboards and reports using tools like Mixpanel or Looker Studio.
  • Establish and maintain ETL pipelines in coordination with internal stakeholders and external data providers.

Profil Requirements

What you should bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Data Engineering, Data Science, or another data-related field.
  • At least 3 years of post-university working experience in business analytics, preferably in an app or tech start-up company.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python or R, data visualization tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Looker Studio). Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Experience with statistical models such as multiple regression, time series analysis, and decision tree models. Familiarity with AI is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, enthusiasm to use (new) technologies, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and communicate complex data insights to business stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English is required, knowledge of German is a plus; experience in app development and/or the education sector is advantageous.

We offer a competitive minimum salary, starting at EUR 50,000 (gross, full-time equivalent) with the possibility of overpayment based on experience and qualifications.
