Data Center Operation Manager, Data Center Operations

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  1. Hire, develop, build and manage a team of Data Center Technicians, including the management of individual and team performance.
  2. Lead and supervise the team to be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting systems, hardware, and network devices issues.
  3. Ensure effective and efficient management of data center operations including ticket queue management, on-call shift arrangement, and hardware logistics.
  4. Inspire and guide improvement in team process, technology innovation, and automation.
  5. Ensure all operational KPIs and metrics are being measured and met.
  6. Manage outages by severity level and act as the call leader.
  7. Be passionate about the quality and quantity of services being provided, and continuously strive to improve our Customer Experience.

• 5+ years of people management experience within an IT environment.
• In-depth knowledge and experience of change, problem, and incident management.
• Fluent verbal and written communication in English.
• Understanding of financial budgeting, Capex, and Opex concepts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Cumulative experiences in Data Center Operations or similar roles in a mission-critical environment.
• Cumulative experiences with information technology infrastructure domains such as compute server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, network devices, cabling, and IT service delivery principles and best practices.
• Experience in safety and security measures.
• ITIL Foundation, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, and/or risk-related certifications.
• Linux certification and/or administration experience - RHCSA/RHCE, LPIC, Linux+.
