Job Description
Data Platform Engineer - 12 Months - Remote
Global Enterprise Partners is currently seeking a Data Platform Engineer on behalf of a client in the FMCG sector. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure data platforms to support business insights and analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the adoption of new data technologies and platforms.
- Collaborate with business segments to identify data platform requirements and develop tailored solutions.
- Develop and implement strategies for new platforms and technologies.
- Ensure seamless integration of new technologies with existing data infrastructure.
- Optimize the data platform for performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Implement data quality, governance, and security technologies.
- Support data-driven initiatives by collaborating with data platform engineers and analysts.
- Research and evaluate emerging data technologies.
- Conduct proof-of-concept projects to assess new technologies.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
Requirements:
- Expert-level proficiency in Azure (Data Factory, Databricks, Spark, SQL Database, DevOps/Git, Data Lake, Delta Lake, Power BI).
- Working knowledge of Azure WebApp and Networking.
- Understanding of Azure AI Services, ML, Unity Catalog, and data catalog technologies such as Purview.
- Proficiency in Azure, Snowflake, AWS, or GCP is required.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and one additional programming language (Java, C#, C++).
- Experience with data warehousing and data lake technologies.
- Solid understanding of database systems (SQL, NoSQL).
- Ability to develop and implement data platform architecture.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with automation and orchestration tools.
