Job Description
Easton Place Medical Clinic in Selkirk invites applications for an experienced Dermatologist. The facility is only the first Phase of a state-of-the-art complex, designed to unite primary care with a variety of health care specialties. This will provide a more integrated approach to health and wellness services. As part of the team, you will work alongside family practitioners and specialists in a variety of fields. You will also become part of a vibrant, thriving community, in the region just out of the provinces' largest city. The population of Selkirk and the surrounding area is 25,000 and the hospital is a referral centre for a catchment of 126,000 regional population. Easton Clinic is the first phase of a 4 Phase Health Project which will provide a more integrated and holistic approach to Health and Wellness. EMR, Nursing and Administrative support, along with a flexible work schedule are offered. Outreach clinics in outlying hospitals in the Interlake Region are also encouraged. Remuneration is Fee for Service.
The Dental Practice, Surgical Clinic, Audiology, Pharmacy, Massage Therapy, Cosmetic Skin Clinic and Minor Operating Room is on site in our first Phase. We are located directly across from the Selkirk Regional Health Centre.
This position is part of a regional team of family physicians and other specialists who have a team approach to covering hospital obligations. Responsibilities include (but not be restricted to) the following:
- Consultation via referrals from all practitioners within Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority (physicians, nurse practitioners, etc.) and from across the province.
- Dermatology service within the clinic and hospital settings as appropriate.
- Admission and hospital care as required.
- Timely documentation and discharge summaries for patient files as outlined by Regional policy and Medical Staff By-Laws.
- Participating in local and regional education as it pertains to your area of expertise.
- Participating in regional guidelines and/or policies as it pertains to your area of expertise.
- Participating in local, regional or provincial committees as they pertain to your area of expertise (ex. Standards, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, etc).
Qualifications
- Hold and maintain an approved license to practice as a Dermatologist from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM) and comply with all the requirements of the College to maintain your license which may include (if you have received medical training outside of Canada), but not be restricted to, having a practice supervisor oversee your practice and allow audits of your practice.
- Uphold Standards established by the CPSM, provincial Standards as determined by the specialty and the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.
- Remain current through appropriate CPD (Continuing Professional Development).
- Maintain adequate CMPA coverage annually.
- Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required.

- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
