Job Description

On behalf of HM Land Registry, we are looking for a Desktop Infrastructure Engineer, (Inside IR35), for a 6 Month contract based hybrid role in Plymouth.

Purpose of the Role

As a Desktop Infrastructure Engineer, you will play an important role in the End User & telecoms support team. You will be joining our friendly and experienced team, who are committed to making positive change in how we support our colleagues within Land Registry in a Windows 10/11 environment.

This role is required to assist in the support of a roll out of circa 2-3000 new laptop devices. We are presently looking to start an SCCM to Intune transition and looking for this role to be responsible for the repackaging and deployment of circa 600 3rd party applications presently deployed by SCCM.

This role will also look to assist in keeping these Applications current and up to date ensuring our End user environment is compliant and secure

We are also looking for proactivity and a positive attitude, to see recommendations for improving our internal processes and policies, to improving the reliability, security and compliance of our end user devices

Job accountabilities and responsibilities:

Re-package 3rd party Applications (SCCM to Intune)

Securely deploy Applications and patches (vulnerability management)

Rollout of new Devices to our end user community

Perform break-fix and early life support

Review processes and identify technical improvements

General Incident support (via Service Desk tickets)

Person Specification

Experience supporting Windows 10/11, Microsoft SCCM & Intune, Azure Active Directory, MS Teams

Experience of working in a large windows 10/11 environment and managing devices in an Intune environment

Experience of packaging Applications in both an SCCM & Intune environment (experience of an actual SCCM to Intune migration would be a bonus)

Experience of Vulnerability Management - updating existing 3rd party Applications to keep current and up to date

Experience of PowerShell Scripting would be useful but not essential

You will be an excellent communicator with influencing, conflict resolution and negotiation skills along with a proven record of having a strong customer focus and a passion for helping others.
