We are looking to hire a Director to lead B&I India Team Operations. This is a senior level position, responsible for overseeing activities to support the global B&I Data team. Key activities driven by the team will be around Metrics operations, Data issues resolution, Data controls execution, B&I Data Use Case support, and supporting data capability tooling. Drives efforts to reduce risk and is responsible for overseeing B&I Data team activities to drive the execution, enablement, and adoption of the B&I Data Transformation Plans.
This role requires a thorough understanding of Investment Banking data, processes, issue resolution, and governance concepts combined with practical experience of implementing them in a complex organization through excellent stakeholder management skills. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and storyboarding are required to advise senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities:- Be the face of the B&I Data Team (Metrics Reporting, Data Quality resolution, Data Capability, and Data Infrastructure teams) in India. Full management responsibility of multiple teams, including management of people, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions/terminations, and budget approval.
- Management of metrics team responsible for Metrics design, build, and management, Project execution for metrics, and key stakeholder interactions for metrics.
- Management of Use Case, Data Quality, and Capability teams responsible for DQ DCRM resolution - requirements gathering and PM, Tooling - CDE governance, lineage and rules management, and validating and running controls monitoring for all B&I Data.
- Proactively liaise with senior stakeholders across the B&I Team globally to execute against Transformation plan commitments, drive alignment on execution steps and timing, and/or support adoption of enterprise approaches and guidelines for use by the Use Cases teams.
- Lead team meetings and working sessions to ensure clear cross-functional communications and set expectations.
- Foster continuous improvement through regular stakeholder engagement and coaching (e.g., sharing best practices, educating on consistent approaches, helping with interpretation of enterprise guidance) and cadence of interactions within businesses, regions, and functions.
- Drive communication strategy and execution among a wide variety of stakeholders, including Data providers, Data consumers, technologists, regulators, and 2nd and 3rd line of defense to drive the effective and efficient design, build, and rollout of data practices, capabilities, and tools.
- Monitor and communicate progress of the plan, anticipate risks and issues, and challenge execution teams' plans to identify roadblocks and dependencies.
- Run issue resolution or data acquisition workshops with global stakeholders where cross-functional teams are dealing with ambiguity.
- 20+ years of experience in a complex financial organization, with a particular focus in Data Governance, including 15+ years' managerial experience and oversees team management experience preferred.
- Experience in large-scale, multi-year transformation and capability building efforts, especially around Data Issues Resolution, Metrics, and Analytics.
- Expertise in one or more of the following core financial services segments preferred: consumer businesses, commercial businesses, capital markets, finance, risk, or compliance.
- Data and technological knowledge, covering recent topics such as Data governance and Operating models.
- Strategic mindset, who can plan ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies.
- Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus and influence relationships at all levels.
- Can effectively lead change in an organization with Citigroup's size, scale, and complexity; experience leveraging the processes and principles of change management to drive organizational change, defining change criteria, providing support and education, managing resistance, and measuring outcomes.
- Manages through ambiguity by making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
- Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizations; demonstrates effective work relationships with business and global function colleagues.
- Understanding of the overall regulatory environment and previous experience working with regulators on data plan execution preferred.
- Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
