Job Purpose: As the generics market continues to evolve, ClarusONE recognizes the need to invest in initiatives to support our risk mitigation strategies, including differentiated sourcing models. The Director, Strategic Initiatives has been created to develop and drive new sourcing strategies which position ClarusONE and its members to create new revenue streams as well as best mitigate risks in the Generics sourcing markets from initial launch through maturation of the drug with the goal of accessing market competitive costs while minimizing potential supply disruption and improving service level for Members. This is a critical role aligned with the ClarusONE strategic priorities to achieve our overall financial and non-financial goals. The Director, Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for the ownership of our new sourcing initiatives across several areas. In this role, the Director will be responsible for working closely with the Strategy and Business Development team and across ClarusONE and its Members to prioritize, implement and communicate multiple projects across various teams to support our overall strategic priority to mitigate risk.

The role will monitor market information including new product or category launches, channel shifts and changes to overall landscape, work with the Analytics team to gather and analyse market and product data, and partner across the organization for both technology and process solutions to put findings into practice. This will include implementation of any new sourcing strategies or models and integration of sourcing strategies to mitigate risk and product launches as well as prioritization of related technology enhancements.

This role will work cross-functionally across teams in ClarusONE including Sourcing, Finance, Member Engagement, Analytics and Technology and will be responsible for leading these teams through any identified projects. The role will also work directly with Members with Manufacturers as needed. As the market evolves, the Director will need to adjust strategies to adapt to market challenges while continuing to serve the needs of ClarusONE Members. Stakeholder communication is a critical aspect of the success of this role, with regular updates to executives within ClarusONE and its Members.

This position requires strategic thinking, communication, problem solving, collaboration, and relationship management to build and execute the necessary strategies for success.

Responsibilities:

  1. Partner with Corporate Strategy Business Development on identified ClarusONE strategic initiatives to identify new ways of working, create incremental value as well as mitigate risk in coordination with Members and cross-functional teams.
  2. Integrate and manage projects across multiple internal teams which support overall strategic goals.
  3. Test and roll-out any newly developed sourcing programs designed to create new value, develop new ways of working and mitigate risk.
  4. Effectively communicate to stakeholders as program evolves, including progress, new findings, and prioritization needs.
  5. Lead the new product launches and immatures sourcing team, develop new product launch strategies with focus on maximising value for Members for day 1 post LOE all the way through to day 181.
  6. Partner the Product team to ensure that technology enhancements to support project and program goals are prioritized.
  7. Partner the Supplier Relationship Management team to integrate any identified solutions into daily sourcing operations activities in partnership with the leaders within the Sourcing team.
  8. Manage a team of individuals with a goal to build a high-performing team to accomplish priorities and support individual growth and development of team members.

Requirements: Education/Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree; preference for Finance, Economics, Business or similar.
  2. Experience in account management, sales, sourcing, business development or product management.
  3. Managerial experience.
  4. Pharmaceutical or healthcare experience preferable.

Knowledge/Skills

  1. Excellent communications skills and the ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively.
  2. Strategic and analytical thinker.
  3. Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize throughout initiatives and effectively manage and report back to all stakeholders.
  4. Advanced proficiency with MS Office (PowerPoint and Excel- Pivots, VLOOKUP's, etc).
  5. Highly motivated self-starter: ability to initiate and manage work with sense of urgency.
  6. Ability to effectively deliver "bad news" and manage conflict to successful resolution.
  7. Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results driven environment that is constantly changing.
