About the role

Energia, part of Energia Group, have an exciting opportunity for Electrical Engineers based in Dublin.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, these new roles will support our Renewables team with projects across onshore, offshore, solar, battery and other renewable technologies

These key roles will be a fundamental part of our team, by providing advice and expertise in relation to Electrical Engineering. As this team is in growth phase, this role presents an exciting opportunity to join at the early stages of project development and plays a vital role in our contribution to the energy transition.

Your key responsibilities and accountabilities

Day-to-day, here's what your new role would look like:

• Support the Grid & Electrical Team to ensure that electrical engineering elements of projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the expected quality standard.

• Interface and monitoring of contractors and utility companies to ensure the successful delivery of contestable assets.

• Input into electrical design review to identify design gaps and deviations or contradictions in specifications.

• Review of Employers Requirements for individual projects and assistance with preparation of same for tendering and contract purposes.

• Input into technical assessments and technical issue solutions.

• Monitor submittals through the approvals process, track procurement and delivery of key long lead items.

• Attend site monthly meetings to ensure that progress of the electrical works is monitored and maintained in accordance with overall construction programme.

• Asist with the quality management of the project construction phase including site attendance to inspect and supervise key works.

• Witness site acceptance tests for all major electrical plant and attend factory acceptance tests where required.

• Update and record project progress.

• Input into the review and response to technical queries from site during the construction and commissioning phases in relation to specifications / drawings / materials / equipment.

• Work as an integral part of the commissioning process.

• Interface with EirGrid, ESBN, NIE and SONI with respect to initial dispatch tests on renewable projects during commissioning phase until maximum export capacity is achieved.

Our key criteria

These are the qualifications, experience, skills, or knowledge you must have:

• Third level qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.

• At least 3 years' experience in HV / MV electrical infrastructure projects.

• Demonstrable experience of being on live construction / electrical engineering projects.

• Proven experience of preparing drawings, designs and reports to management.

• Current driving license and access to a car.

Our desirable criteria

These help decide between talent who meet all the essential criteria:

• Experience in the design and construction of substation projects at 38, 110 or 220 kV voltage levels.

• Experience in utility grid contestable design and delivery

• Proven experience in the design and construction of renewables projects electrical works packages.
