Environmental Permit and Audit Manager

  • Environmental Permit and Audit Manager
  • Truro, Cornwall (3 days on-site minimum)
  • Up to £50,000 per year

The Opportunity:

My client working within the renewable sector are currently looking for an environmental permit and audit manager on a permanent basis based in Cornwall.

In this role you will be responsible for my client's environmental compliance and permitting requirements. As part of the role you will lead and operationally take action on all environmental activities for them, ensuring that the people and customer sites they provide solutions to, are compliant with environmental and legislative requirements.

Finally you will assist to establish, review, implement and maintain Environmental Management Systems (EMS), to ISO 14001 across all sites and ensure that all the required records are kept according to regulatory requirements.

Skills and Experience:

  • Design, propose and be responsible for the environmental compliance, with support and oversight from an external consultancy, for all sites and installations, by developing and aligning a site plan, according to business, corporate and regulatory needs.
  • Manage and carry out environmental permit applications, annual environmental compliance assessments and reporting to verify compliance performance at each site.
  • Collate technical and planning documents to assist with permit and planning applications including variations to the Environment Agency (EA) and Local Planning Authority (LPA).
  • Carry out internal site inspections as required to audit performance against permit requirements.
  • Work with finance team to develop budgets and timelines for applications on selected sites.
  • Collaborate effectively with Operations, Engineering Team, Head of QSHE and Farm Project Manager for proposal and site plan alignment with regulations.
  • Take a pre-emptive approach to identifying environmental issues at sites and ensure good communication amongst the team to resolve swiftly and efficiently.
