European Road Operations Coordinator

Our client, a comprehensive freight forwarding and cargo handling service, offering International logistics solutions via Air, Sea, and Road, as well as warehousing, are looking to recruit a European Road Operations Coordinator, to be based at offices in Selby, North Yorkshire.

Main Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Director, to work as part of the European Road Freight Operations Team, communicating with the UK and European client base and planning collections and deliveries of road freight in the most profitable way.

Duties and Responsibilities of the European Road Freight Co-ordinator:

• Extensive client liaison, building relationships and maximising the potential of the European Road freight client's business.
• Extensive supplier liaison to develop reliable and cost effective European services.
• Calculating freight quotations for export and import freight shipments.
• Completing operational administration including job cards and sending booking confirmation to the suppliers.
• Raising all of the appropriate operational documentation including customs clearance formalities.
• Managing the European road freight consignments in transit through to successful completion and delivery.
• Invoicing out and completing the job files.

To Be Considered:

• Proven freight forwarding operations experience in European Road Freight.
• An understanding of the post Brexit European customs clearance requirements.
• Confident and clear communication skills.
• Proven success of building customer and supplier relationships.
• Strong negotiating skills.
• Numerate with experience of calculating freight quotations.
• Good IT (Microsoft) skills.
