- Location: Central London, UK (the team is currently in the office two days/week)
We are now seeking a new Executive Director to build on our success and impact so far and reach new heights.
You will lead GiveOut in fulfilling our ambitious five-year strategy to advocate for more funding to benefit LGBTQI communities and - by 2027 - to be fundraising £2.4 million annually and providing grants totalling £1.7 million to support LGBTQI organisations in securing more progress for LGBTQI rights and equality around the world.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will serve as the chief executive officer of GiveOut, responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial management of the charity. With a current team of seven and annual budget of £1.25 million, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our impact, expanding our donor base, and ensuring the effective delivery of our mission.
Who we are looking forThis leadership role requires a dynamic individual committed to LGBTQI human rights, exceptional strategic thinking, proven experience and success in philanthropy and fundraising, and working with individual philanthropists and corporate donors.
You will possess significant experience in developing strategies to diversify income streams and launching initiatives in new regions.
We seek someone who can demonstrate the highest ethical standards, integrity, and the ability to foster trust and credibility.
Crucially, we need someone with strong interpersonal and communication abilities to engage with diverse stakeholders and proven experience in nonprofit leadership and scaling organisations.
You will thrive in dynamic environments, understand the political and economic landscape, and be capable of executing long-term strategic plans. Experience working with nonprofit boards, knowledge of governance and compliance, and a track record of leading high-performing teams are essential.
While our expectation is that nonprofit experience is vital to this role, we are open to considering other profiles if you can clearly articulate your commitment and how your skills and experiences make you well-suited for this role.
Additionally, you will be skilled in public speaking, media engagement, and representing the organisation at high-profile events.

- Pension contribution: 5% employer contribution
- Annual leave: 25 days paid annual leave (rising by one additional day for each year of service up to 28 days) plus one day around your birthday or a key LGBTQI event and days over the Christmas week
- Sick leave: Up to six weeks over a one-year period of a sickness leave will be paid full salary
- Parental leave: Enhanced maternity, adoption and surrogacy leave
- Mental well-being support: Reimbursement up to £600 pa for therapeutic sessions
