Job Description
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will join BCG Athens Finance Team reporting to the Finance Senior Manager. You will be an integral member of the finance team and will provide important finance support to the local office, the EMC (East Mediterranean and Caspian) System & EMESA Region and the Global Services teams.
YOU'RE GOOD AT
  • Running the day-to-day accounting operations under the supervision of the Finance Senior Manager in cooperation with local Finance team and advisors/vendors, proactively identifying and address areas for continuous improvement of accounting processes to gain efficiencies;
  • Maintaining the general ledger, including:
    • Preparing and posting journals entries (especially for the month-end)
    • Ensuring accuracy of data interfaced from other systems and appropriate use of GL accounts on the various general ledger entries
    • Preparing accounts' reconciliations on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Regularly running and analyzing monthly and annual reports;
  • Monitoring budget vs actuals of expenses cycles;
  • Reviewing personnel's travel and other expenses' claims in Chrome River System, ensuring compliance with BCG policies and correct classification to Projects & Other Costs;
  • Supporting in Accounts Payable through Palette System used internally for invoices' approval and processing;
  • Cooperating with Finance colleagues, in the preparation of all required documentation and schedules to support the annual audit;
  • Overseeing payment process for suppliers and expenses in compliance with internal processes and policies;
  • Ensuring clients are invoiced as per contract terms billings, ensuring also that absorptions, client invoices and receipts etc. are entered into Commercial System (T&B) in a timely manner;
  • Providing support on case economics, weekly performance metrics and client contract management update;
  • Supporting the Finance team in ensuring implementation of Global Risk Management procedures (e.g., segregation of duties, controls, documentation, archiving, emergency procedures);
  • Ensuring that all transactions, processes and local accounting practices comply with BCG policies and local accounting regulations;
  • Managing ad-hoc requests from Leadership Team and Finance Teams;
  • Taking part in special projects, as needed, with even Global visibility.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • Relevant prior experience (3 years ideally) in a multinational company (preferably a big four or professional services firm environment) within the same area;
  • University degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance;
  • Proficiency in MS Office, in particular Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Expertise with Statutory financial accounting and reporting systems; Familiarity with US GAAP will be considered a plus;
  • Very good communication skills, both written and oral in Greek and English;
  • Strong analytical, ownership and accountability skills, with the ability to manage high-sensitive data;
  • Relevant team-working skills and attitude to work in a dynamic, international and fast-paced environment;
  • Good level experience with SAP may represent a plus.
