We are looking for a FP&A / Commercial Finance Manager to join our global Finance division. The role is to provide business partnering between Finance and the Client Service teams with a focus on the following key responsibilities.
Key responsibilities:- Forecasting
- Maintain up-to-date turnover and net revenue forecasts for the UK business, while supporting your US counterpart with equivalent tasks.
- Assist service line leadership with understanding their forecasts and making informed resourcing decisions.
- Client Profitability
- Collaborate with your US counterpart to provide Client Services with actionable insights on client profitability metrics.
- Analyse client profitability by type of work and leverage insights to improve project pricing.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client profitability through alternative approaches or techniques.
- Highlight efficiency and synergy opportunities, such as:
- Identifying under-utilised teams to take on work across the group.
- Streamlining time-intensive processes through innovative methods, including potential technology solutions.
- Project Pricing
- Upskill and train Client Services on efficient pricing strategies.
- Design and implement a new, standardised project pricing process.
- Establish a pricing review panel for fee proposal evaluations.
- Explore value-based pricing opportunities to maximise fees.
- Set minimum pricing thresholds for specific activities.
- Standardise pricing for common services, such as:
- Strategy development (e.g., based on the number of interviews).
- Banner advertisements.
- Translation and transcreation.
- Focus on consistency in pricing across UK and global operations, including regular rate card reviews and automation.
- Minimise pricing errors.
- Client Overruns
- Support Client Services in identifying early-stage projects or retainers that are underperforming in profitability.
- Facilitate discussions with clients regarding overruns when caused by client-related factors.
- Address overruns stemming from internal processes and collaborate with Client Services to implement preventive solutions.
- Utilisation
- Assist leadership in understanding staff utilisation rates and contribute to discussions about staffing and project resourcing.
