Job Description
FPGA Design Engineer

This role is INSDIE IR35 and WILL require regular weekly access to London Offices

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced FPGA Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RTL design and a proven track record of working on high-speed designs that utilize significant FPGA resources. This role requires a deep understanding of high-speed communication interfaces, Digital Signal Processing, and the ability to debug complex FPGA designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement RTL for high-speed FPGA designs.
  • Develop and optimize FPGA designs that consume substantial FPGA resources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement high-speed communication interfaces such as Ethernet and PCIe.
  • Apply knowledge of RF and DSP fundamentals to enhance FPGA designs.
  • Debug and troubleshoot FPGA designs using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
  • Ensure designs meet performance, power, and area specifications.
  • Document design processes and methodologies.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • High-Speed Communication Interfaces: Proficiency in designing and implementing high-speed communication interfaces like Ethernet and PCIe.
  • Languages: Strong expertise in Verilog and VHDL for RTL design.
  • RF and DSP Fundamentals: Solid understanding of RF and DSP principles and their application in FPGA designs.
  • Multiple Clock Domain Designs: Experience in designing RTL for high-speed or multiple clock domain designs.
  • Debugging Skills: Proficient in using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes for debugging FPGA designs.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with FPGA development tools and simulation environments.
  • Knowledge of FPGA architecture and resource optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with system-level design and integration.
