It is a local tourist attraction. The organisation has appointed Hays to recruit a Front of House Supervisor to join their team. The position will be 21 hours per week with the possibility of additional hours for events / cover. The working hours will be between 9.30am and 5.00pm on a rota basis, in line with opening days, which are Tuesday to Sunday.
Your new role
As Front of House Supervisor, you will oversee retail and front of house staff. Manage the organisation's retail activities, including shop tills and all EPOS hardware. You will take responsibility for purchasing shop stock and for ensuring overall quality of presentation. You will be responsible for the management of cash relating to retail and admissions. Managing the stock control function, organising and supervising stock takes in consultation with the Retail Manager to include all preparation and final update on EPOS system. As Front of House Supervisor, you will manage the visitor admission system and provide statistical information including end of day, week, month as well as special events. Manage Front of House data capture, ensuring daily targets are being met. As part of your role, you will manage a range of front of house activities including the switchboard, postage, visitor signing in book, first aid contact point, radio control etc. You will also ensure the safety of visitors and of other employees by strict adherence to all relevant policies and procedures, including the Health and Safety Policy and the Safeguarding Policy.
What you'll need to succeed
As Front of House Supervisor, essentially, you will have a minimum of 2 GCSEs at Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent) and 1 year's experience supervising a front of house team within a fast-paced, public-facing environment.
OR in the absence of 2 GCSE's at Grade C or above in Maths and English, 2 years experience supervising a front of house team within a fast-paced, public-facing environment.
Experience of delivering retail services and associated cash handling within a fast-paced, public-facing environment. Experience of working within a customer service environment providing a high standard of customer care. Experience of communicating effectively with a wide range of people, both internally and externally, and building and maintaining effective working relationships. You will have experience of effectively utilising a range of IT tools including Word, Excel and Outlook and Teams. You must also hold a current clean driving license.
