In our clients state-of-art engine development center they develop engine families for future regulations. These engines and trucks are best of class products in the transportation world.

The Functional Testing Team determines whether an engine and its subsystems are functioning according to established standards while the engine operates in its intended environment.

As Functional Test Engineer within the System Integration team of DAF Trucks, you are responsible for the preparation, execution, analysis and reporting of functional engine test activities over various engine development projects. You also collaborate with specialists within project teams, where you give your expert opinion and help in risk identification and reduction.

Your responsibilities and goals:

• Prepare, execute and analyze functional tests or investigations on engine sub-systems / components and their controls.

• Coordinate test set-up and test execution

• Evaluate and report test results

• Focus on engine mechanics and mechatronics

• Maintain existing Engine Test Standards under your responsibility

• Develop new test procedures for engine components and engine systems and their controls

• Active contribution to improve test efficiency and test quality

• Collaboration in project teams

Daily activities are in close cooperation with the members of the System Integration team, Line Lead Engineers of other teams within Global Engine Integration and Performance Lead Engineers of the department. Furthermore you will be working with the Global Engine Engineering department and Engine Verification department in both The Netherlands and North America. In this role, you report directly to the Engineering Supervisor System Integration, and also align on daily basis with other Line- and Project Managers.

Your profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering;

• Knowledge of internal combustion engines and aftertreatment, and sub-systems like fuel system, lubrication system

• Knowledge of modern engine controls, sensors, actuators and electronics

• Willingness to develop experience on measurement techniques for temperature, pressure, flow and data analysis.

• Enthusiasm to deal with complex engine systems and development of solutions for complex technical challenges

• Good English skills are mandatory, Dutch skills are a pre;

• Able to work in a complex project-oriented environment

Contract through Yacht of at least 1 year, we follow the salary chart of DAF Trucks. For this position the salary range depends on highest earned degree and years of experience. The range is between € 4.200,- upto max € 6.200,- gross per month based on 36 hours a week (excluding holiday allowance of 8.33%). 37.5 hour work week.

Yacht also has benefits as a home office budget of € 750,- and annually a budget of € 3.500,- for following courses to further develop in your career.
