Job Description

The General Manager, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations, is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of both hotels in alignment with company standards, mission statement, vision, and values. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Financial Performance: Maximizing revenue and profitability by implementing effective financial strategies and monitoring performance metrics.
  2. Guest Satisfaction: Ensuring a high level of guest service and satisfaction through staff training, quality assurance, and guest feedback initiatives.
  3. Team Development: Fostering a positive work environment that encourages staff development, training, and retention, enhancing overall team performance.
  4. Strategic Leadership: Leading the development and communication of clear strategies, goals, and objectives for the hotels, ensuring alignment with corporate vision.
  5. Operational Excellence: Developing, implementing, and monitoring operational plans to optimize efficiency and service quality across all departments.
  6. Owner Relations: Building and maintaining positive relationships with hotel owners, providing regular performance updates, and addressing any concerns.
  7. Performance Maximization: Continuously seeking opportunities to improve operational performance and guest experiences while aligning with brand standards.

The General Manager plays a pivotal role in the success of the hotels, ensuring that both financial and operational goals are met while maintaining a strong focus on guest satisfaction and team engagement.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in Laos is an added advantage.
  • Prior 5+ years of experience in luxury hotel management is essential.
  • Strong match with Sofitel/MGallery General Manager Leader capability framework.
  • Strong educational background.
  • Professional level of English.
  • Good understanding of the local market, especially in Laos is preferred.
  • Experience with owner relations.
  • Must be strategic, creative, and able to clearly communicate how plans will deliver on overall goals.
  • Excellent speaking and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible with the capacity to set high goals and standards for the smooth operation of the hotel.
  • Effective management style, hands-on and approachable.
  • Bottom-line oriented with emphasis on quality guest service and team-building.
