Job Description
Doctors Direct have an exciting opportunity for an Registrar ST3 to work with us in General Surgery , Vascular.

We are looking for a doctor dedicated to, and passionate about, improving health and wellbeing within the Harlow Community.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
Take comprehensive histories and perform physical examinations on patients with vascular conditions, such as peripheral arterial disease, aortic aneurysms, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and varicose veins.
Develop and implement management plans for patients, including medical and surgical interventions for both elective and emergency vascular conditions.
Evaluate and optimize patients before surgery, including risk assessments and patient education. Oversee postoperative recovery, monitor for complications, and guide patients through rehabilitation.
Provide acute care for patients with vascular emergencies, such as ruptured aneurysms, limb-threatening ischemia, and acute DVT.
Engage in MDT meetings, particularly for complex cases such as aortic surgery, vascular trauma, and chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI), where collaboration with other specialists is crucial.
Assist in performing common vascular surgical procedures, such as endovascular interventions, open vascular surgery (e.g., bypasses, carotid endarterectomy), and lower limb revascularization.
Gain experience in minimally invasive techniques, including endovenous laser therapy (EVLT), sclerotherapy for varicose veins, and endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR).
Participate in complex surgeries such as aortic aneurysm repairs, carotid artery surgeries, lower limb revascularization, and management of vascular trauma.
Assist in the creation of vascular access for dialysis patients (arteriovenous fistulas and grafts).

Start date : Start/End Date 01/02/2025 - 28/02/2025
Rate of pay: £55-£65 per hour
Payment method: PAYE we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies

About you:

Valid GMC

Right to work in the UK

Clinical attachment complete - We do not offer placements in the NHS

Minimum of 6 months paid experience in the NHS/UK
