Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Global Vertical Solution for Logistics holds the primary responsibility of shaping and implementing a comprehensive vertical strategy within the Perishables sector, ensuring alignment with industry trends and supply chain management best practices.

By leveraging their expertise, the specialist actively contributes to the development of end-to-end solutions, utilizing data-driven insights and collaborating with the solution engineering team to enhance thought leadership and drive sales.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Vertical Strategy Development: The specialist is responsible for formulating and implementing a comprehensive vertical strategy, focusing on staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in supply chain management within the perishables sector.
2. End-to-End Solutions Expertise: The specialist plays a pivotal role in analyzing logistics data, identifying optimization opportunities, and spearheading the development of fit-for-purpose end-to-end solutions.
3. Key Account Management Support: Acting as a subject matter expert, the specialist supports key account management by providing insights for end-to-end solutions tailored to customers' needs.
4. Thought Leadership and Training: The specialist actively promotes thought leadership within the vertical by conducting training sessions and organizing customer events.
5. Team Leadership: Responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives.

Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World's Principles, values and culture.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. 10+ years of hands-on experience directly related to the responsibilities outlined in the job description.
2. Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. MBA preferred.
3. Extensive experience (10+ years) in logistics and supply chain management, with a specific focus on developing and implementing logistics strategies within the perishables industry.
4. Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective logistics and supply chain strategies, resulting in tangible contributions to business growth and profitability.
5. Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to work with large datasets related to perishables supply chain operations.
6. Track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving operational excellence within a logistics context.
7. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex logistics concepts to non-logistics stakeholders.
8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
9. Experience in implementing Lean methodology and driving continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations.
