The role

As Global Head of Social Media, you will work closely with members of the broader marketing team, leading development and implementation of a comprehensive social media strategy to increase our online presence, build brand awareness, and drive engagement across all social media platforms. You will bring a deep understanding of social media trends and influencer strategies, as well as the ability to create compelling, engaging content and lead in development of same. You will play a critical role in shaping SoftwareOne's digital marketing strategy and manage internal and contractor/agency social media professionals. You will be a team builder with an appetite for innovation, as well as the proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and navigate and succeed in a matrixed environment.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and lead execution of a comprehensive social media strategy aligned to the company's overall marketing and business objectives.
  2. Manage and oversee all social media accounts (e.g. LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, etc.), ensuring engaging and timely content is posted regularly, and with unifying strategy.
  3. Increase engagement with the SoftwareOne brand across social media channels.
  4. Develop and maintain accountability for social media content calendar, providing cross-team visibility and ensuring timely and strategic posts are made to support the broader marketing and brand agenda.
  5. Lead the team in creating and curating high-quality original content, including production in multi-media formats.
  6. Provide crisis management counsel, strategy, and execution, as well as developing standard protocols to manage negative situations effectively.
  7. Track KPIs for social media campaigns; analyze social media data and metrics, generate reports that illustrate campaign performance and include data-informed strategic recommendations.
  8. Maintain watch on audience engagement and adapt social media campaigns to drive greater brand impact.
  9. Lead development of influencers and brand ambassadors to amplify company messaging and expand reach.
  10. Have a flair for creativity in developing social programmes.
  11. Manage team's engagement with clients and followers.
  12. Maintain corporate social media policy and monitor compliance.
  13. Establish relationships with social media influencers to develop a strong network.
  14. Stay abreast of social media trends and understand and inform as to how they impact SoftwareOne.
  15. Work cross-functionally with teams such as customer marketing, communications, regional leaders etc.
  16. Communicate effectively to all stakeholders including senior management and content developers.

What we need to see from you

  1. 5+ years of experience in social media, digital marketing, online marketing, or related field, in the B2B technology space.
  2. Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or related field / or equivalent relevant experience.
  3. Demonstrable experience in executing impactful social media programmes that support brand and funnel growth. Blend of in-house and agency experience preferred.
  4. Cultural awareness and ability to adapt social media strategies to regional norms and needs.
  5. Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English. Native English speaker, with excellent attention to detail.
  6. Ability to craft engaging content and lead team members in producing same; have the ability to think creatively and develop content and campaigns that stand out in a noisy market.
  7. Experience applying brand positioning and messaging across all channels, from creation to training and providing governance to the broader team and agency resources.
  8. Organized and exceptional at multitasking.
  9. Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects at the same time, working with colleagues around the world.
  10. Ability to lead agency and contract resources, as well as lead and mentor internal team members.
  11. Creative, strategic thinker- bring up new ideas and present them in a clear engaging way.
  12. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, and exercise independent and sound judgment.

Technical Skills:

  1. Proficiency in social media analytics and tools, including Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Sprout Social, etc.
  2. Solid knowledge of best practices for social media platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.
  3. Solid knowledge of SEO and keyword search.
  4. Proficient in tools for content creation - e.g. Canva, Adobe Illustrator.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Powerpoint, Teams, and Co-Pilot.
  6. Experience in Jira and Sharepoint are a plus.
