We are seeking an Investment Banking M&A Associate in our Industrial and Consumer sectors to help support strong growth in the practice.

As a M&A Associate (Industrials & Consumer) you will be:

  1. Providing quantitative, qualitative and analytical support and analysis for mergers and acquisitions and other financial advisory services to clients across a variety of industries.
  2. Preparing company valuations, financial models and client presentations.
  3. Due diligence, project management, document processing and financial/statistical analysis.
  4. Depending on experience, Associates can range from No.2 to No.4 on advisory teams.
  5. Associates may be assigned specific departmental responsibilities, including in relation to business development activities.

  1. Associates should have established the following:
    1. A thorough understanding of accounting practices and ability to undertake detailed financial analysis.
    2. Financial modeling skills.
    3. Writing skills.
    4. Presentation skills (primarily in terms of preparation of presentations).

  2. Associates should have established/be establishing the following:
    1. Commercial judgment and awareness.
    2. Transaction execution skills.
    3. Presentation skills (both preparation and delivery).
    4. Negotiation skills.
    5. People management (in particular the development of analysts and taking responsibility for their output).
    6. Client relationship skills.
    7. Thorough regulatory and legal knowledge (ideally including the Listing Rules and the Blue Book).
    8. Stock Market and general economic awareness.
  3. One of the following qualifications:
    1. A graduate with a minimum 2.5 or equivalent.
    2. Qualified Accountant or Lawyer, or completed an MBA, or experience in Associate or equivalent role within an Investment Bank or Industry (other than in exceptional circumstances).
