Group Head of Data Platforms

The Group Head of Data Platforms will lead the transformation towards a federated model with local ownership under a Group-governed platform. This role involves overseeing the design, architecture, engineering, and all technological aspects of the data platform. The candidate will manage the technical team and oversee the delivery of strategic projects and business initiatives. The role requires a collaborative leader who can influence data teams globally to align with a unified data technology and platform strategy. Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Guide the platform architecture to ensure products align with platform strategy and standards.
• Platform Oversight: Responsible for the performance, monitoring, execution, and issue management of the platform.
• Best Practices: Establish and implement best practices and standards in software and data engineering.
• Product Delivery: Ensure the delivery of secure, reliable data products and services that meet business requirements
• Business Value Focus: Develop a data platform with real-world applications and business value at the forefront
• Tool and Standards Development: Set appropriate tools, standards, and best practices for data platform delivery
• Innovation and Growth: Foster an innovative approach to business by identifying new opportunities through emerging insurance products and methods
• Market Analysis: Analyze market and competitive conditions to propose solutions that strengthen the data platform's market position

• Extensive experience in deploying emerging data technology stacks such as MS Fabric and AI
• In-depth expertise in MS Azure, Databricks, MS Fabric, and related technologies
• Proven leadership in managing technical teams and overseeing global data initiatives
• Strong ability to influence and collaborate with global data teams towards a shared platform strategy
