Head of Accounting & Controlling (d/f/m)

We're looking for an inspiring Head of Accounting & Controlling (d/f/m) to lead our dedicated team at Kleinanzeigen.de .

The Financial Accounting team at Kleinanzeigen will be part of the local Kleinanzeigen Finance team, that will consist of team members covering Tax, FP&A and Compliance. Your team will consist of 2 people.

This is a new function, as we are transitioning from a shared function with Mobile.de and international central functions towards a dedicated local finance function.

You will report directly to the CFO of Kleinanzeigen.

Leadership in Adevinta means actively supporting your team to become successful. This means coaching, coordinating, and participating in the daily operations to set the example and bring knowledge to the team.

Since you will have a broad scope and a relatively small team, it is expected from this role that you will assist the team with the daily work.

You therefore also need an understanding of finance processes, reporting, and accounting.

Our office is based in Berlin, you are expected to be at the office around 2-3 days a week.

As the Head of Accounting, you will :

• Oversee of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closings by working with all internal and external Financial Accountants and Analysts

• Manage revenue controlling and accounting for relevant countries and centrally managed revenue streams.

• Conduct trial balance reviews and flux analysis.

• Coordinate allocations, cross-charges, and project accounting.

• Supervise payroll and expense report coordination.

• Prepare financial statements and coordinate local statutory audits.

• Monitor the fixed assets and capitalization processes

• Coordinate local tax audits and tax returns, and collaborate with our Finance systems and local Billing teams to ensure German accounting and tax requirements are fulfilled

• Collaborate with Legal and Tax advisors (reviewing or submitting tax declarations and required forms with the authorities, or other locally required reporting and submissions

• Liaise and report to local authorities on local required reporting and submissions.

• Utilize SAP S4 HANA and OneStream for reporting

• Manage the treasury process.

Who you are:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• Extensive Experience ( 10+ years) in an accounting or controlling role in a global environment, with at least 3 years of team leadership experience in an international matrix organization. 8-10+ years in an accounting or controlling role in a global environment, with at least 3 years of team leadership experience in an international matrix organization.

• Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity

• Business fluent in German and English.

• You have gained strong HGB knowledge and you have worked with accounting software (SAP S4 HANA or similar).
