Job Description

inDrive is seeking a Head of Labor & Employment to oversee, lead and provide vision for all aspects of the company's global employment legal and compliance framework. They will support inDrive's existing and future legal needs in a variety of areas, including legal employment compliance, compensation and benefits and employment litigation.


You will advise our People & Culture (HR) team and other business partners in all areas of employment law, and proactively building our global employment compliance program and managing potential employment-related risks and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advice and counsel on a wide range of labor and employment law issues, including recruiting, diversity and inclusion, employee and labor relations, performance management, leaves of absence and accommodations, wage and hour, pay equity, internal investigations, compensation and benefits, contingent workers, and immigration.
  • Build out the employment compliance department, including training a global team and evaluating, iterating and scaling employment practices and policies at a growing organization with employees in 40+ countries.
  • Draft, review and update labor and employment related agreements and templates, and manage outside counsel in connection with the same.
  • Manage employment disputes and litigations globally, collaborating on and handling employment-related disputes, internally and externally.
  • Conduct and manage workplace audits, employment classification reviews, and support other employment compliance efforts.
  • Manage outside counsel on labor and employment matters.
  • Collaborate on developing and conducting training and education programs for employees, managers, and the People & Culture team (HR).
  • Provide advice to key business partners and help develop strategy on company-wide initiatives and policies affecting employees with a team-oriented approach.
  • Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement activities relating to employment issues and provide proactive, strategic advice to the relevant stakeholders as necessary.
Qualifications
  • A J.D. from a leading U.S. law school/university, an active member of the bar in good standing, and at least 6 years of relevant work experience, including several years at a top law firm (and additional in-house legal department experience highly valued as well), with a focus on labor & employment legal experience and significant exposure to compensation & benefits matters;
  • Experience providing traditional labor and employment law advice and counsel to a multinational / global employer;
  • Experience in advising on pay equity and pay transparency matters, and wage and hour compliance, including job classifications and payroll compliance;
  • Experience in advising on workforce change strategies including reorganizations;
  • Experience managing a team, with strong leadership and communication skills;
  • Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment with limited direction, balance competing priorities, and manage several time-sensitive projects at once;
  • Superior relationship management skills with the ability to develop partnerships and relationships throughout the organization as well as with key external collaborators to drive strong and consistent business performance;
  • A strategic problem-solver with excellent legal and business judgment;
