About the role
We are looking for a Head of Group Accounting & IFRS (m/f/d) to join our team.
In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and reliable financial reporting for our company.
As a leader, you will work closely with international colleagues and shape an activity that will have far-reaching influence on the design of the Group's process landscape in addition to professional and technical responsibility for accounting.
You will be responsible for compliance with IFRS standards and lead strategic projects in the area of Group accounting.
What you will do
You will be responsible for a team and the preparation of the consolidated financial statements of BayWa r.e. AG Group in accordance with IFRS as well as the Group management report.
You and your team will prepare the individual financial statements of the parent company BayWa r.e. AG in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB).
Together with your team, you will prepare the figures for our management and internal reporting.
You and your team advise and support domestic and foreign Group companies on accounting issues and manage integrations in the context of company acquisitions.
Your team clarifies fundamental and ad hoc accounting issues, primarily in accordance with IFRS and HGB, and you act as the central point of contact for the auditors and coordinate the Group-wide audits of financial statements.
You continuously develop the SAP consolidation system SAP BO FC and manage projects on accounting-related topics, such as the expansion and optimization of accounting-related global end-to-end processes.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree in economics with a focus on accounting (in accordance with HGB and IFRS) and at least 8 years of work experience.
Professional experience in group accounting of an industrial company, in auditing or audit-related consulting - professional qualification (auditor/tax consultant) and management experience is a plus.
Sound theoretical and practical experience in accounting in accordance with HGB and IFRS, in particular in the preparation of consolidated financial statements (consolidation).
Analytical and conceptual way of thinking, assumption of responsibility and independent way of working as well as the ability to work under pressure and assertiveness.
Strong team spirit, high flexibility as well as high level of motivation and commitment.
Very good command of written and spoken English.
