Now, our new subsidiary, Moniepoint GB Limited, is launching, with the goal to make cross border trade and remittance into, across, and out of Africa seamless for everyone. We are on an exciting journey of growth, and we are now looking for a passionate, experienced people leader to build and drive our people strategy for Moniepoint GB Limited.

About the role

As our Head of People, GB, you will be leading the charge in shaping a people-centric culture for our greenfield subsidiary, Moniepoint GB, supporting our team through all stages of their journey, while ensuring that performance and talent management, engagement, and a collaborative workplace atmosphere are at the forefront of everything we do.

It's already a sizable, international team spread across multiple countries, and it's expected to grow exponentially in the next 6-12 months, so you will get to make a huge impact leading strategic People initiatives as we scale. What you'll get to do

  • Culture and Employee Experience: Foster a values-driven work environment where everyone feels engaged and supported, driving initiatives that promote openness, collaboration, and inclusivity as Moniepoint GB grows.
  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire employee journey, including but not limited to welcoming new hires through onboarding to smooth offboarding and effective disciplinary management, for all team members in Moniepoint GB, including but not limited to those in the UK, Nigeria, Kenya and beyond.
  • Performance Management: Implement development programs that inspire engagement and cultivate a culture of high performance.
  • Leadership Development & Coaching: Encourage strong leadership practices and lead initiatives that enhance employee well-being and team performance.
  • Diversity & Inclusion: Build and sustain a diverse and inclusive environment where all team members feel valued and empowered.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage relationships with our insurance providers, ensuring that all team members and their families have the support they need.
  • HR Operations and Compliance: Ensure adherence to UK employment laws while streamlining HR operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • HR Data & Insights: Use data-driven insights to guide decision-making and track progress on HR initiatives.
  • Global Workforce Management: Support our geographically distributed teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring every member feels included and connected to our mission.

To succeed in this role, we think you should have

  • Proven Senior-Level HR Experience: Extensive experience in a Head of People role within a hyper-growth, mature scale-up, with a track record of scaling from 40 to 200+ employees.
  • International Experience: Experience building and leading an HR/People team while overseeing organizational culture across multiple countries in a distributed setup.
  • People-Centric Approach: Strong ability to cultivate a culture of trust, engagement, and inclusion, focusing on employee experience and well-being.
  • UK Employment Law Knowledge: Familiarity with UK employment law and compliance, ensuring HR practices align with local regulations.
  • Experience with Emerging Markets: Prior experience leading the People function with teams based in Africa (a huge plus) or emerging markets (APAC, LatAm, etc.), with a deep understanding of the unique HR dynamics, as this will be critical for the role.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficient in HR analytics, using data to inform the People/HR strategy for Moniepoint GB Limited.
  • Cultural Building Skills: Demonstrated experience in fostering a strong organizational culture within a distributed international workforce.
  • Cultural Fit: Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, demonstrating adaptability and a hands-on approach.
  • Preference for Office Work: Seeking a leader who enjoys being in the office (at least 3 days a week) to meet the in-person needs of the role.
