Position: Head of Resource Management
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent role as Head of Resource Management to join the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). The role will report into the Director of Enterprise Portfolio Management. Smart DCC needs to ensure that its product and change portfolio is delivered effectively and efficiently. A new EPMO capability is being established to plan, monitor, assure, and report on the delivery of all initiatives across the business. The EPMO additionally provides the objective 'single source of truth' view of delivery performance for the portfolio and leads the management/resolution of cross-programme risks, issues, and points of contention to maximize the effectiveness of change implementation. This is a senior leadership position addressing a notoriously difficult capability area. The role holder will need past experience in the resourcing domain accompanied by a track record of project delivery experience to design, stand up, and migrate DCC to new ways of working for managing resource demand and supply. The role holder will engage with the company's SLT, ExCo members, and relevant external parties.
What will you be doing?
- Define and develop the project/programme/initiative resourcing strategy across the organisation.
- Explain to ExCo and SLT members the need to forward plan resource requirements and take the organisation on the associated maturity journey.
- Design, develop, launch, embed, and continuously improve robust resource planning processes and supporting mechanisms to enable proactive resource demand and supply management, enterprise-wide for BAU and Change.
- Establish and operationalize effective insight and reporting that drives prioritisation, scheduling, resource balancing, and demand fulfilment decision-making.
- Identify cross-DCC capacity/resource bottlenecks and proactively engage people at all levels of the organisation to facilitate mitigation strategies/plans.
- Work with Functional Directors and their Resource Managers to identify capacity risks/issues and execute mitigation strategies/resolving actions.
- Lead the mentoring, coaching, and training of EPMO team members and direct reports.
What are we looking for?
- Experience of leading a Resource and Capacity Planning Service across a complex, fast-paced, technology change environment, having undertaken a similar role in previous organisations.
- Significant experience of designing and deploying robust resource management processes, tools, and reporting that enable data-driven decision-making.
- Significant experience in leading the implementation of Workforce Management tools.
- Change Management - The ability to influence, shape, and drive improvement initiatives in fast-paced and complex, ideally regulated, environments with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Collaboration - Excellent senior management relationship development skills with the confidence to effectively challenge others where appropriate.
- Stakeholder Management - Ability to manage a complex set of stakeholder interactions and resolve conflicting priorities if required.
