Job Description

At Appwrite, we're looking for a Head of Revenue to join our team, focusing on driving business growth and executing our Go-To-Market strategy.

About the job

As the Head of Revenue you will be pivotal in shaping and executing the Go-To-Market strategy to drive immediate and long-term business growth. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, focusing on building a revenue engine from the ground up. In this stand alone role, you will be responsible for driving business growth through strategic planning, sales execution, and market insights, ensuring Appwrite's product aligns with customer needs and industry trends. You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to craft and implement a scalable GTM approach, targeting rapid growth and long-term market success.

Responsibilities
  1. Own the end-to-end revenue strategy, aligning GTM, sales, customer success, and partnerships with Appwrite's business goals to drive short- and long-term growth.
  2. Oversee the sales process, from building and maintaining the pipeline to executing inbound and outbound sales efforts. Actively engage in the entire sales cycle, including prospecting, pitching, and closing deals to drive immediate revenue growth.
  3. Identify and penetrate new markets, particularly in enterprise and high-growth areas. Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders in the developer, cloud infrastructure, and open-source ecosystems.
  4. Work closely with product, growth, and engineering teams to ensure revenue strategies align with product development and market needs. Provide customer feedback and insights to help shape product roadmaps and optimize the value proposition.
  5. Establish and optimize revenue operations, including forecasting, reporting, and CRM management. Use data analytics to drive revenue performance and inform continuous improvement across sales, pricing, and market positioning.
  6. Collaborate with customer success to ensure clients achieve long-term value from Appwrite's solutions. Focus on driving retention, upselling, and expansion within existing accounts.
  7. Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships, including potential alliances with cloud infrastructure providers, developer communities, and enterprise platforms to unlock additional revenue channels.
  8. Develop and deliver sales training and technical collateral, ensuring internal teams are equipped to communicate the value of Appwrite's offerings to different customer segments effectively.
  9. Occasionally represent Appwrite at industry events, conferences, and webinars to position the company as a leader in the developer tooling and open-source space.
Requirements
  1. 2+ years in revenue leadership and hands-on experience in the tech industry, with a strong focus on business strategy and market analysis.
  2. Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth through strategic sales planning by owning the GTM strategy.
  3. Experience in B2B sales, particularly in selling complex technology solutions to enterprise clients.
  4. Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize data into actionable business insights.
  5. Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to independently drive the sales function, and the potential to scale and lead a sales team as the company grows and revenue allows.
  6. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  7. Results-driven with a passion for strategic innovation.
  8. Highly user-centric, passionate about deeply understanding client needs and tailoring solutions that drive long-term satisfaction and retention.
  9. Entrepreneurial mindset, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  10. Collaborative, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally to achieve business goals.
  11. Experience with marketplaces like AWS or GCP is a plus, as understanding cloud infrastructure will help navigate enterprise customer needs.
Nice to have
  1. Contributions to open-source projects.
  2. Familiarity with cloud platforms and services.
