As our Head of Risk & Governance - Roadside you will play a pivotal role in managing risks associated with marketing activities in a regulated environment. This role involves collaborating with senior stakeholders, providing subject matter expertise, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies, overseeing remedial activities, and conducting root-cause analysis. You will work closely with various teams to ensure effective risk reporting and management processes.

Leading a small team, you will manage risk and incident registers, provide assurance to the leadership team, and develop MI reporting. Additionally, you will help embed the risk culture for the Consumer and Regulated B2B business.

What will I be doing?
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader on Risk Management, providing appropriate challenge and expertise on risk and regulatory matters across the function.
  • Collaborate with Product teams to design controls in tandem with new product development, evolving best practices in line with central Risk guardrails and guidelines.
  • Oversee all remedial activities following a Risk Incident, supporting in identifying root causes and actions to drive sustainable improvements to customer outcomes.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of relevant risk management data and insights to stakeholders.
  • Perform self-assessments against current regulations and guidance to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure best business practices, policies, and procedures are in place with appropriate governance and oversight of risk, focusing on good customer outcomes.
  • Report to the relevant forums and regulatory boards on behalf of the Consumer and Regulated B2B business.
  • Manage the appropriate documentation for risk incidents and audits.
  • Support the overall Commercial team risk management framework, alongside the Product Director, supporting the CCO in ensuring all risks are regularly identified, mitigated, and managed.
  • Act as the Roadside team champion on all customer-facing compliance matters, ensuring our end-to-end customer experiences deliver great outcomes for customers.
  • Oversee the collation and action plans related to any Commercial team compliance audits on behalf of the Roadside.
  • As a key member of the Road Leadership team, represent Roadside at the relevant regulatory, governance, and customer forums.
What do I need?

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • A proven track record as a Senior Risk Manager in a regulated business
  • Deep knowledge of Consumer Duty and FCA guidelines
  • Solid experience in risk management and controls in a commercial, regulated business
  • Experience in identifying issues, avoiding hazards, and managing incidents
  • Ability to digest and filter complexity, creating pragmatic solutions
  • Strong analytical capability, highly structured with the ability to create and drive engaging processes
  • Highly capable at managing stakeholders; able to work cross-functionally by building strong relationships that help the team deliver
  • Effective at influencing and managing in a complex matrix organisation
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable working with and, when necessary, challenging senior and executive stakeholders
  • Experience in designing and enhancing control frameworks
