About the role
As a result of our incredible success and growth, we are looking for a Head of SEO to join our wider Brand and Communications team! You will be leading SEO efforts, including on-page optimisation, technical SEO, content optimisation, backlink strategy, and regular SEO audits with the goal of improving discoverability of Student Beans in search and increasing sessions, user acquisition and revenue.
Responsibilities include:
- Working in close partnership with the Head of Growth, Head of Content and Customer Experience to set the vision and strategy for SEO at Student Beans and its execution in core markets.
- Line management of the SEO content team, comprising of an SEO content strategist, content writers and digital PR manager.
- Owning a combined roadmap of initiatives across content, outreach and website development to significantly increase sessions from search.
- Analysing data to inform content opportunities.
- Working with web squad on technical optimisation and conversion initiatives.
- Driving content ideation and prioritisation of topics.
- Ensuring content is produced to a high standard that builds authority.
- Supporting with PR campaigns that generate backlinks to content.
- Coaching and mentoring direct reports, using deep SEO experience to improve their technical skills.

- Ability to lead and drive influence cross-functionally; this role must coordinate multiple teams, stakeholders and objectives together to achieve success.
- Strong technical skills and proficiency in Google Analytics, SEO software (e.g., Moz, SEMrush, Ahrefs), and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience, with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
- Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex search marketing concepts to team members and stakeholders.
- Adaptability to make changes in search engine algorithms, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Business acumen and a solid understanding of the organisation's industry, market, and competition.
