Job Description

Job Title: Headteacher
Location: Cornwall, UK
Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum
Duration: Permanent
Working Hours: On-site | Monday to Friday
Specialisation: Experience with SEN and SEMH pupils

We are looking for an experienced Headteacher to join a leading provider of specialist education, with a network of independent schools and support services dedicated to young people with a range of diverse special educational needs across the UK.

In this role, you will take charge of delivering a high standard of creative and inclusive learning, ensuring that each pupil's unique educational needs are met while maximizing their potential. You'll be supported by a strong infrastructure, including finance, resourcing, HR, and IT services, as well as access to a network of experienced Headteachers and centralised school improvement support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead with a clear, strategic vision to drive school improvement and pupil success
  • Foster an environment of high-quality, creative learning that meets the diverse needs of all students
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring effective teaching, learning, and pupil welfare
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure the safety, well being, and development of both staff and students.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to enhance the provision of SEN and SEMH services.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least three years in a senior leadership role within a specialist school, particularly focused on complex communication needs
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Proven experience leading SEN/SEMH-focused education settings
  • Strong commitment to continuous personal and professional development
  • Ability to provide clear leadership with a vision for both academic and pastoral success
  • Comprehensive understanding of school leadership, including the processes that drive pupil outcomes, staff motivation, and student safety.
