The Role
We re seeking a dedicated Laundry & Sewing Workshop Facilitator to join our team at HMP Millsike. In this rewarding role, you ll oversee a team of up to 35 learners, guiding them through practical, hands-on training while supporting their development through the Employability Passport programme. This is a meaningful opportunity to help reduce re-offending by equipping individuals with valuable skills for future employment and personal growth.
What You ll Do:
- Deliver Training and Support: Lead learners through their training journey, identifying individual needs and providing one-to-one coaching to enhance their skills and self-development.
- Foster a Safe and Productive Environment: Ensure health and safety standards are upheld, conducting risk assessments as necessary to create a secure working environment.
- Inventory and Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the laundry and sewing workshop, monitoring inventory levels to ensure consistent workflow.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work alongside other staff members and departments to support a cohesive and productive environment for learners.
- Admin and Reporting: Complete administrative tasks as required, contributing to efficient workshop operations and learner tracking.
Requirements:
- Strong background in textile industry, with supervisory experience within a production or similar environment.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and maintaining high safety standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a commitment to supporting learner development.
- Familiarity with prison security protocols and an understanding of maintaining a secure learning environment.

Working Hours:
This is a full-time role, 38.5 hours per week, with the following schedule:
- Four days per week: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- One half-day per week: either 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM
