Job Description

Job Overview:

The Infrastructure Architect plays a key role in CLS, possessing broad knowledge in Data Centre, Cloud Infrastructure & Platforms, with a focus on capability enhancements and continuous improvement. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, providing technical leadership, and ensuring the design meets CLS architectural principles and security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Author High Level Solution Design, Solutions Overview and Conceptual Architectures.
  2. Design and architect solutions based on technical and business requirements.
  3. Develop and document architecture blueprints and best practices.
  4. Act as a lead Architecture on projects.
  5. Contribute to the development & management of Infrastructure Strategy.
  6. Contribute to the continuous improvement of Architecture within CLS.
  7. Contribute to product roadmaps & reference architectures.

Key Competencies:

  1. Experience in Architecture.
  2. Strong experience in Cloud platforms, Data Centre, and hosting technologies.
  3. Ability to communicate solutions to other stakeholders.
  4. Broad knowledge of Networks & Security.
  5. Good knowledge of Risk management.
  6. Work closely with other architecture disciplines including Enterprise, Application, and Security, as well as Engineering and Operations.
  7. Provide technical guidance to team members and stakeholders.
  8. Identify & recommend opportunities for efficiency.
  9. Stay updated on new features and capabilities & best practices.
  10. Ability to deal with ambiguity and manage diversity.
  11. Share knowledge with the team and contribute to the organization's learning culture.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience Architecting Infrastructure solutions.
  2. Industry recognized certifications (such as Togaf, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) in conjunction with application in previous roles are highly desirable.
  3. Strong understanding of infrastructure concepts, principles, and best practices.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience in IaC (nice to have).
  2. Knowledge of Compute virtualization and hypervisors.
  3. Knowledge of Operating systems (Windows and Linux) & Database Technologies.
  4. Knowledge of networking design and principles in both public cloud and traditional data center.
  5. Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures.
  6. Ability to assess and recommend third-party tools and services to complement AWS offerings.
  7. Knowledge of 3rd party storage and firewall desired.
  8. Stakeholder management.
  9. Knowledge of cloud security.
