Job Description

This position sits within J.P. Morgan's leading Investment Banking M&A team, based inParis. This is a new and exciting opportunity to further grow a new business vertical in France focused on mid-cap deals (around €250mm to €2bn enterprise value) in close partnership with country, industry, and other product teams, in particular with the local Investment Banking and Global Corporate Banking teams.

As a Vice President on the France M&A team, you will partner with colleagues in industry and product teams to originate and execute the full spectrum of corporate finance transactions including public takeovers, private buy-side and sell-side transactions and corporate carve-outs.

Job responsibilities

  • Act as the primary day-to-day client point of contact and lead banker on deals
  • Review and coordinate the analytic work of junior bankers to advance the marketing/execution process
  • Train junior bankers to enhance their skills and performance
  • Refine marketing and execution materials for maximum client impact
  • Oversee the creation of financial projection models.
  • Identify and manage all risks in a given deal
  • Liaise with other internal and external parties on transactions (e.g., lawyers, accountants, counterparties)
  • Lead client negotiations, Q&A processes, and management interviews

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Fluency in French
  • Relevant M&A Investment Banking experience and knowledge of France market
  • Outstanding financial analysis and modelling skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Solid communication and project management skills
  • In-depth understanding of investment banking products
  • Experience dealing with clients and other transactional
  • Proficient in MS office applications and experience of Bloomberg and Factset
