IT Systems Engineer

The opening represents a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and ambitious IT Systems Engineer to join a dynamic and growing Information Services team headquartered in South Birmingham (Redditch). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply their technical skills in a broad role, covering systems support, database management/development (SQL), developing web-based applications and supporting BI reporting requirements.

Selection of Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day IT support, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to Microsoft systems, Windows hardware, telephony systems, and BI reporting application.
• Assist in building, maintaining, and supporting SQL databases, handling programming tasks, and working with web-based technologies.
• Contribute to system security initiatives and ensure compliance with security protocols.
• Travel to other locations when required to provide IT support and maintenance.

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong knowledge of Tier 1 IT support operations.
• Proficient in supporting Microsoft systems, Windows hardware, telephone systems, scanners, and other warehouse tools.
• Intermediate understanding of SQL (common queries), programming, and web-based technology.
• Some experience in system security is preferred, but not essential.
• Relevant IT accreditation's (including SQL) + or HND/degree qualification (desirable).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Valid UK driving licence is required.
