KS2 Primary teacher in North Somerset

Start date: JanuaryLocation: North SomersetContract: Full-timeWorking hours: 8:00 - 4:00
Your new role: This specific role is for a year 5 teacher at quite a large school in North Somerset. The school is easily accessible with ample parking available. It is a great community school with a dedicated staff committed to the wellbeing of the children. The class has no SEND needs, you will also have your own TA. It's a class of 32, so an experienced KS2 teacher with good behavioural management is desirable. They are looking for a KS2 teacher, who is happy-go-lucky and willing to get stuck in and help around the school. It would be 4 days a week starting in January, going long term until April, as long as both you and the school are happy with the placement. Some of your duties will include
Delivering Lessons: Teach pre-prepared lessons and ensure continuity of learning in the absence of the regular teacher.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, managing student behaviour effectively.
Adapting to Different Classes: Quickly adapt to different classroom settings and student needs, often with little prior notice.
Following School Policies: Adhere to the school's policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety guidelines.
Marking and Feedback: Mark students' work and provide detailed feedback to the class teacher.
Communication: Communicate effectively with other staff members, including teaching assistants and senior leadership, to ensure a smooth transition and continuity for students.
Requirements to succeed in your new role:

  • Teaching Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience teaching at the primary school level
  • Classroom Management Skills: Proven ability to manage a classroom effectively, create a positive learning environment, and handle diverse student needs.
  • Curriculum Development: Experience in developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and cater to various learning styles.
