Lead BI Developer

Contract: 24-Month Fixed Term
Location: Fully Remote
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

A leading UK charity is seeking a Lead BI Developer and Senior BI Developers to assist with a mass migration to Dynamics 365. This role will primarily focus on backfilling day-to-day BI Developer responsibilities while ensuring a smooth transition during the migration process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of data professionals, fostering best practices and continuous development.
  • Backfill day-to-day BI Developer tasks to maintain ongoing operations and meet service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across Analytics, Data Science, and IT to identify opportunities and address risks.
  • Provide technical challenge and guidance on delivery projects, ensuring adherence to best practices in solution design.
  • Manage the BAU workload, ensuring adequate support for live applications and identifying critical systems.
  • Participate in the design and delivery of BI applications, including training programs for effective onboarding.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced experience in SQL Server and data modelling.
  • Proficient in Power BI for robust reporting and analytics.
  • Proven leadership experience in a technical environment with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with leading Agile teams and employing CI/CD methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar project management tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Data Suite.
  • Awareness of data quality best practices and experience with user interface design.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with ERP migration.
  • Familiarity with the Azure tech stack.
  • Familiarity with Databricks.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to produce technical documentation.
  • Experience in building and maintaining databases for tracking and analytics.
