Contract: Permanent / 40 Hours Per Week
Hourly Rate: £16.76ph + £2.52ph additional night rate between 18:00 to 06:00 + £19.86 subsistence allowance per day + £8.81 food allowance per day.
Location: DPD Enfield - 5 Morson Road, Ponders End, Enfield, EN3 4NQ
Days of Work: Monday - Friday
Start Window: 12:00 - 21:00

Job Description

As a Class 1 Relief / Tramper driver, you will be responsible for executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide. Your primary duty will be to operate modern fleet vehicles on an agreed shift pattern, delivering palette loads to HGV-friendly locations.

Key responsibilities include:

Adhering to a rigorous schedule, including a minimum of 4 nights per week sleeping in your vehicle at one of our secure locations.
Operating within a designated region surrounding your base depot.
Ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods to maintain our high standards of service.
Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and any incidents encountered during transit.
Conducting thorough pre-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.
Loading and unloading trailers as required, with strict adherence to health and safety protocols.
Representing DPD professionally at all times, maintaining a high standard of personal presentation and conduct.
Promptly reporting any issues or delays to the relevant supervisors or managers.
Continuously updating your knowledge of road safety regulations and company policies.
Participating in mandatory training sessions to enhance your skills and maintain compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

Valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence
Minimum of 12 months Class 1 driving experience
Valid UK Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card
Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card
Demonstrated ability to load and unload trailers as required
