The role
As the Lifecycle Architect for Naval Ships at Damen Naval, you'll ensure naval systems comply with strict technical requirements, design scalable maintenance solutions, and develop asset management and logistics technologies to enhance readiness and reduce downtime for naval ships.
Key accountabilities
As the Lifecycle Architect for Naval Ships, your key responsibilities will include:
- Develop innovative, scalable ship lifecycle support and training solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements, enhancing materiel and personnel readiness, optimizing availability and reliability, and minimizing downtime.
- Integrate ship lifecycle support systems with existing infrastructure for seamless data exchange and interoperability.
- Perform configuration management and integrate health and usage monitoring, smart supply, logistic support, and training solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into efficient technical solutions aligned with Damen Naval's vision.
- Implement security best practices to protect sensitive ship data and ensure regulatory compliance. Work closely with developers, engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
- Provide guidance in the development process, helping teams make informed technology, design, and best practice decisions.
- Continuously monitor system performance, identify improvement areas, recommend optimizations, and implement best practices.
Skills & experience
To excel as a Lifecycle Support Architect, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- At least five years of relevant experience in life cycle support management, techniques and principles,
- Master or bachelor degree in IT, or another relevant technical study.
- Experience in data ethics and data security as a Solution Architect, preferably in the domains of naval engineering, research, development, and innovation gained in the naval and or maritime life cycle support industry.
- Preferably familiar with naval operations and maritime regulations, ship maintenance, repair, and support processes such as ILS and LCM.
- Good command of the English preferably also Dutch language both written and verbal.
- Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
