We have an ambitious strategy to launch a series of new wellness products and services to customers. This is an exciting time for H&B and the Marketing Claims Regulatory Affairs Manager role is crucial in ensuring we deliver to our roadmap and plans.
The role of Marketing Regulatory Manager reports directly to the Head of Regulatory Affairs whilst being integrated within the marketing team and necessitates effective collaboration within a cross-functional team. The primary responsibility is to deliver regulatory guidance that helps us deliver on our brand promise 'To make health and wellness a way of life for everybody'. The Role:
Key Responsibilities:
Framework & Process Development
- Design and implement a transparent marketing regulatory approval framework and process that facilitates a systematic approach for the efficient approval of marketing materials across all relevant channels in H&B.
- Establish a process that allows marketing claims to be utilized across categories to enable the most compelling customer-facing messaging.
- Ensure the meticulous documentation of all relevant materials and policy documents, maintaining controlled documents with periodic updates as necessary.
- Assist in creating brand guardrails and claim wording policy documents for H&B's key missions, serving as reference materials for the marketing team.
- Prepare reports and presentations regarding compliance status and trends for senior management review.
- Have a strong understanding of our brand and marketing objectives and play a pivotal role in helping us achieve these.
Regulatory Compliance Review
- Examine and approve marketing materials to ensure compliance with regulatory standards across digital platforms, in-store communications, public relations, and other pertinent channels.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely and effectively with marketing, commercial, legal, product development, and other departments to provide regulatory guidance and assist in crafting compliant and compelling marketing wording, which allows us to offer our customers clear, easy to understand, expert advice.
- Manage relationships with key regulatory and trade associations concerning marketing and claims-related topics, such as HFMA and PAGB.
Regulatory Insights & Updates
- Remain updated on regulatory changes and industry trends that may influence marketing strategies, providing valuable insights to marketing teams and senior management.
Team Training and Guidance
- Provide training and guidance to team members on regulatory topics concerning marketing claims.
- Share knowledge and provide regular coaching to the marketing teams on upcoming regulatory hot topics, best practice and other topics as relevant.
Record Maintenance
- Keep precise records of all marketing materials submitted for approval alongside the corresponding regulatory guidelines.
- Identify potential risks associated with marketing claims and develop strategies for their mitigation.
- Conduct regular audits of marketing materials to ensure continuous compliance.
External Relationships
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including industry groups and regulatory bodies.
- Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory agencies concerning marketing claims and compliance issues.
Location: We offer hybrid working arrangements to support flexibility and productivity, this role requires 2 days office presence per week and can be based at our London or Nuneaton Hub.
The Person:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
- Substantial relevant experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, or marketing in retail or FMCG.
- Strong understanding of relevant regulations such as NHCR and familiarity with the marketing landscape.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
- Experience working within a cross-functional team setting.
