Mechanical Estimator Lincolnshire £40,000 to £60,000

Your new company
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established company specialising in commercial and industrial plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning services. With over 30 years of industry experience, this company is known for delivering high-quality projects from start to completion. They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their team.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Analysing project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
  • Consulting with clients, vendors, and internal teams to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Preparing detailed proposals and bid documents.
  • Reviewing and evaluating cost estimates.
  • Maintaining records of estimated and actual costs.
  • Assisting in the procurement process by identifying and selecting suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Participating in project handover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimation to project execution.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the building services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field are preferred, such as an HNC/D in Building Services, though this is not necessary.
  • Commercial experience is essential.
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
