Role: Medical Director (UK and Ireland)
Location: Remote or Hybrid (depending on experience)
Company: Global Pharmaceutical Company
Salary/Package: £100,000 - £135,000 plus 20% bonus, car allowance (£9360 per year) & fuel card, and private medical insurance for employee and family
We are recruiting a Medical Director to provide medical leadership and strategy to help achieve business goals. This role includes strategy implementation, process ownership, autonomy, support, and change management. The company is currently working on pre-launch and launch activities across multiple indications, including rare diseases, respiratory, psychiatry, and neurology.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire their assigned team.
Responsibilities:
Manage, lead and motivate a successful high-performing team, including budgetary responsibility for medical cost centers.
Develop long-term strategy, lead agile teams, and manage end-to-end processes for high-quality outcomes.
Collaborate, partner, and integrate digital technologies across relevant departments.
Support business development in project evaluation, due diligence, and providing technical inputs to potential projects and product launches.
Provide and coordinate support to all departments, including marketing and commercial aspects of the business.
Understand compliance, regulatory, and pharmacovigilance requirements.
Identify and troubleshoot process deviations and suggest effective corrective actions.
Represent medical affairs at relevant UK, IRL, and EU/Global meetings and communicate outputs.
Manage and provide strategic leadership to the MSL/Scientific/Medical Advisor team.
Deputize for the Cluster lead UK & Ireland Medical on the EU Medical leadership team as appropriate.
Manage compliance of promotional materials with necessary regulations and provide input on compliance to Medical and Marketing Departments.
Act as the final Medical Signatory for materials, ensuring compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice and other regulations.
Represent and input on behalf of the Medical Department with UK and IRL Business units, conferences, and bespoke projects.
Requirements:
Final signatory experience.
People management experience.
