Are you a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist with a passion for making a positive impact? At Priory Nelson House, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to join us as a Medical Director & Consultant Psychiatrist, contributing to exceptional patient care and leading with expertise in our multidisciplinary environment.
About the Role:
As Medical Director at Nelson House, you will play a pivotal role in both clinical and operational aspects of our service. In this leadership role, you'll oversee clinical governance, quality improvement, and ensure the highest standards of care.
Responsibilities include:
- Clinical Leadership: Providing line management and supervision to medical colleagues, including conducting appraisals, overseeing investigations, and supporting clinical audits.
- Governance & Quality Improvement: Engaging in clinical governance activities, promoting best practices, and leading initiatives to enhance patient care quality.
- Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) Leadership: Chairing MAC meetings, fostering collaborative decision-making, and ensuring medical standards align with Priory's values.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Acting as the liaison between Nelson House and Priory's wider service line teams, including the Regional Managing Director, Clinical Director, and Chief Medical Officer.
- External Relations: Participating in discussions with external stakeholders to promote the hospital and its excellent care services.

In your dual role as Consultant Psychiatrist, you will:
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments, diagnoses, and create personalised treatment plans.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers, to deliver integrated, high-quality care.
- Participate in case reviews, contributing your expertise and guiding treatment approaches.
- Actively contribute to the development of Nelson House's mental health care programs, ensuring they reflect best practices and evolving standards in psychiatry.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualifications: CCT in General Adult Psychiatry and full GMC registration.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in a similar inpatient setting.
- Skills: Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication abilities, with a compassionate, patient-centred approach.
