QINLOCK (ripretinib) is Deciphera's switch control inhibitor developed for the treatment of fourth-line GIST. QINLOCK is approved in Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. We wholly own QINLOCK and all of our drug candidates with the exception of a development and commercialization out-license agreement for QINLOCK in Greater China. In addition to QINLOCK, we have identified and advanced multiple product candidates from our platform into clinical studies, including vimseltinib and DCC-3116.
Job DescriptionDeciphera, a member of ONO, is searching for a highly motivated, insightful, and resourceful individual to join the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) Medical Affairs team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a passionate, high profile, high-impact Medical Affairs team, and work in a highly dynamic and collaborative setting.
We are seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) who will have overall responsibility for leading, managing, and supporting ripretinib and the pre-launch/launch phase of vimseltinib in Germany and will report to the Medical Lead DACH.
The MSL provides national vision and direction for the medical strategy and ensures that all activities comply with all Deciphera's policies and SOPs and is accountable for the optimal allocation and management of Medical Affairs resources for the relevant products. She/he will implement a targeted medical strategy for her/his specified territory, focusing on operational tasks and ensuring alignment with business objectives. The successful candidate will have significant experience facilitating strong MSL relationships with the external scientific and medical community.
The MSL will act as a key liaison between our organization and healthcare professionals, therefore contributing significantly to our medical affairs strategy. In this position, the MSL will develop and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals, providing scientific insights to support our medical strategy and product development. Responsibilities include conducting compliant field interactions, as well as gathering and communicating valuable medical insights to cross-functional teams, including market access and commercial colleagues.
This position is available as a remote position from home and will have significant expectations for travel. Place of residence preferably in Nordrhein-Westfalen.
What You'll Do:- Coverage of a dedicated area with active management and insight tracking. The position includes the operation of the western part of Germany.
- Build and develop enduring relationships with HCPs, patient advocacy groups, professional societies, and institutions, creating constructive cross-functional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with external vendors/service providers, including the Medical agencies of record, in assisting with medical affairs tactics including but not limited to advisory boards and medical education (e.g. congress symposiums, patient cases, etc).
- Contribute as requested to the development/editing of other important medical communications to support the Medical Affairs activities, which might include briefing documents, written communications, Frequently Asked Question documents, etc.
- Ensure that key data, strategically aligned scientific communication points, elements from other internal guidance and resource documents are included appropriately in local publications and presentations, and that statements and conclusions are accurate, balanced, and supported by appropriate data.
- Participate in relevant cross-functional teams and task forces to represent the DACH Medical Affairs team as needed. Make presentations to colleagues and management as needed.
- Support internal training of customer-facing colleagues, enhancing their knowledge and understanding of clinical data and our medicines if needed.

What You'll Bring:
- Scientific or Medical Degree (Pharm D, PhD, MD) required.
- Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience required, preferably in Oncology.
- Experience/expertise in interpretation of scientific data, market research, competitive intelligence tools, drug information systems, and developing medical educational strategies. Proficiency with Veeva and Microsoft Office; in-depth Word, PowerPoint & Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategically, drive performance, build alignment, inform, negotiate and collaborate.
- Knowledge of local pharmaceutical Code of Practice and FCPA/GPIHP, relevant SOPs.
- Ability to formulate (write) strategic, long-range plans that are aligned with strategies across the organization and to implement them successfully.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Flexible, with a positive attitude, strong ability to multi-task, prioritize projects effectively and communicate at all levels within the company.
- Ability to travel (50%).
