Job Description
We are looking for a podiatrist with experience in biomechanics and MSK to lead in this area and be a mentor for other clinicians. Our biomechanics service has been quietly growing over the last 2 years and is now ready to go to the next level with a suitable lead practitioner.

We are looking for either a part- or full-time team member who will have a good understanding of current best practice, tissue rehabilitation and orthotics prescription. Qualification and experience in manipulation or manual therapy, ultrasound imaging and injection therapies would be desirable, but not essential and can be provided for the right applicant.

A little bit about us

We are a 2-year-old clinic based in Ilminster, South Somerset, with a growing visibility for all things feet. As the director of the company I'm looking to hand over more clinical caseload to allow me to focus more strategically. We have 2 other podiatrists and 2 admin support team. I built this clinic off the back of my reputation practising since 2006, and I'm super proud of what it has become, and our amazing team. Therefore we need the absolute right person!

We get up to 60 new patients join us each month, and I am looking to really grow the MSK/biomechanics with investment in equipment and skills.

Work/life balance is extremely important to us. That is why we found balance in working our 36 hours over 4.5 days, but within that we can be flexible regarding working pattern.

I know what it is like to be bored to tears by the humdrum, the constant treadmill of the same patients over and over. So one of my priorities is making sure my team keep on developing and reaching their potential. Drawing that back into my long-term personal goal, I want to develop a team leader, who has opportunity to develop this service is the best way and inspire the other clinicians to pursue excellence.

The basic details

Our successful candidate will be motivated and inspired. They will be comfortable giving their best to general care patients, swift patients, nail surgery patients and MSK patients alike. Fo biomechanics they will have access to treadmill, MLS laser bespoke orthoses accounts from several labs and Sidas orthoses to manufacture in house. Our goal to is help patient to a better, stronger place than before they got injured and rehabilitation has a strong emphasis. In keeping with the vision, I want to include diagnostic ultrasound, manual therapies, and possibly injection therapies.

The town of Ilminster itself offers lots of recreational facilities, independent fair trade shopping, designer boutiques and artisan foods, 3 gyms and beautiful countryside to explore. With excellent connections to London, Bristol or Exeter and only 30 mins from the South Coast, it is an ideal base for outdoor lifestyle or commuting to the office in equal measure.

Starting salary 45k+ depending on experience.
