Network Engineer

Due to the nature of the role, it's not always possible to work from home. We ask that any prospective candidates are willing to travel to our Leatherhead office (Surrey) 3-4 days per week so please consider when applying.

All candidates must be eligible to undergo SC clearance should this be required for any projects.

Your future duties and responsibilities

CGI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Network Engineer to work on a project delivering and supporting mission-critical software.

Key Tasks:
• Creation and maintenance of build and design docs
• Implementation of infrastructure solutions - CGI lab
• Implementation of infrastructure solutions - client site
• Test and validation of solutions
• Researching new solutions and applying them

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

• VMware/ Hyper-V Building/ setup and deployment of VM environments.
• Linux Administration Build/configure/maintain
• Automation/scripting eg Ansible, Puppet
• Willingness to learn new technologies
• Networking; good understanding of basic networks (UDP/TCP/IP) IPv4, Switching, Routing etc.
Desired competencies:
• Experience of designing bespoke infrastructure solutions
• Understanding of 5G / Telecoms background
• Understanding of satellite communications networks
• NMS Zabbix/ Grafana
• Firewalls : Fortinet / PFSense/ Juniper: install/configuration/ maintenance.
• Understanding of VPNs
