Network Engineer (NOC)

Our Edinburgh based client are looking to onboard a Network Operations Centre Engineer (NOC) to join their 24x7 shift team for an initial 6-9 month contract with the opportunity to then go permanent. In this role you will be providing L1 and L2 network troubleshooting capabilities, escalating issues to Incident & Recovery Management, general network support, network changes and supporting 3rd parties with access requests to the network. As mentioned, this role will be working on a shift basis thus, a mix of day and night shifts will be applicable here working 7-7. The role is also 100% on-site in the Edinburgh office.
In terms of top skills, please see below;
- CCNA Certified as a minimum or multiple years industry experience will also be accepted.
- Experience in Cisco Troubleshooting at Layer 1 and Layer 2
- Network monitoring experience
- Ability to manage and escalate incidents within a network environment
- Understanding or technical experience of Firewalls
Some key technologies that would be a bonus but not a necessit y - Fortinet, F5, Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, Cisco Voice, ServiceNow, SDN, LAN, WAN. This is the perfect role for a Network Engineer looking to get their foot in the door at an Enterprise level organisation with great progression paths.
